By Samuel Lawrence
Heated tobacco is a better alternative to smoking which uses tobacco and no liquid. Read on to find out more about what heated tobacco is, how it works and the price of heated tobacco.
What is heated tobacco?
Heated tobacco is an alternative to smoking which heats real tobacco without burning it and releases a vapour instead of smoke. The #1 heated tobacco product is IQOS*, the first commercially available heated tobacco product to launch in the UK. Globally, so far, more than 11 million adult smokers have chosen to switch to IQOS and leave cigarettes behind**.
Is IQOS expensive?
IQOS starter kit is priced £39 the IQOS 3 DUO and two packs of HEETS. For £10, you can try the IQOS with two packs of HEETS for two weeks. At the end of your trial you can pay the difference to buy the device or return it free of charge and incur no further costs.
How does IQOS work?
IQOS heated tobacco devices use patented HeatControl technology to heat HEETS, the tobacco sticks designed for exclusive use with IQOS, with a specially designed heating blade. This regulates the temperature much lower than that of conventional cigarettes, which burn at over 800°C at the tip.
How much do HEETS cost?
HEETS are priced at £5.50 for a pack of 20 tobacco sticks, making them less than half the price of 20 cigarettes***. If you’re a smoker who smokes 10 cigarettes a day, you’ll save on average over £1,000 per year if you switch completely to HEETS***. You can find out more about the affordability of heated tobacco here.
HEETS are available in a choice of nine variants: Russet, Sienna, Teak, Amber and Yellow offer tobacco tastes. Turquoise, Blue, Green and Sienna Caps are mentholated.
