IQOS ILUMA i PRIME™ & IQOS ILUMA i™ devices are equipped with the new Touch Screen so that you can quickly get see the information about your experience:

  • pre-heating status (duration, completion)
  • time left for your experience
  • number of available experiences (one or two)

With IQOS ILUMA i PRIME™ & IQOS ILUMA i™ devices you will also enjoy such advanced features as:

  • Consistent experience with up to 3 consecutive uses (only available in Performance Mode when pause is not activated).
  • Pause your experience and resume it.
  • Flexible experience with FlexPuff feature. FlexPuff feature can be activated/deactivated at an IQOS store/kiosk or IQOS Partner store.

Compatibility between IQOS ILUMA i PRIME™ and IQOS ILUMA i™

Yes, they are compatible. You can charge your IQOS ILUMA i PRIME™ Holder in IQOS ILUMA i™ Pocket Charger and vice versa. The charging cable and AC Power Adaptor are the same.

Compatibility between IQOS ILUMA™ & IQOS ILUMA i™ devices

Yes, they are compatible. You can charge your IQOS ILUMA i™ Holder with IQOS ILUMA™ devices and vice versa (applicable for IQOS ILUMA™ and IQOS ILUMA PRIME™).

You can use the charging cable and AC Power Adaptor from IQOS ILUMA™ devices to charge IQOS ILUMA i™ devices. Also, the accessories of IQOS ILUMA are compatible with IQOS ILUMA i™ corresponding devices and vice versa.

Yes, you can use the AC Power Adaptor from the previous generation IQOS™ devices (IQOS™ 3, IQOS 3 DUO™, IQOS 3 MULTI™, IQOS ORIGINALS DUO™ & IQOS ORIGINALS ONE™, IQOS ILUMA™).

Required charging cable: type C.

For optimal charging, just ensure that your AC Power Adaptor:

  • supplies 10W (5V 2A - 5 Volts; 2 Amperes)
  • has the safety certification mark (it is indicated on the power adaptor by CE conformity symbol or mark showing compliance with regulations applicable in South Africa)

You can check the power information of the AC Power Adaptor on the packaging or on the adaptor itself.

AC Power Adaptor is now sold separately. For safe use and optimal charging, you have three options:

  1. use the AC Power Adaptor from the previous IQOS™ devices (IQOS™ 3, IQOS 3 DUO™, IQOS 3 MULTI™, IQOS ORIGINALS DUO™ & IQOS ORIGINALS ONE™, IQOS ILUMA™).
  2. purchase it separately in IQOS™ stores or on iqos.com
  3. use a 3rd party Certified AC Power Adaptor (5V 2A with the safety certification mark – widely available in major convenience stores)

Regardless the option, ensure that the charging port of the device is clean and does not have dirt, particles, or dust in it.

If you use a 3rd party Certified AC Power Adaptor, please, ensure it:

  • supplies 10W (5V 2A - 5 Volts 2 Amperes. Indicated on the packaging on the AC Power Adaptor itself).
  • has the safety certification mark (it is indicated on the AC Power Adaptor by PSE conformity symbol).
  • is compatible with the IQOS™ cable (type C).
  • is not using lower power. It will increase the charging time, may cause unproper charging, malfunction or may pose safety risks.

You can check the power information of the AC Power Adaptor on the packaging or on the AC Power Adaptor itself.

Regardless the option, ensure that the USB port of the device is clean and does not have dirt, particles or dust in it.

Yes, 5V 3A (5 Volts 3 Amperes) can be used to charge IQOS ILUMA i™ devices. Charging current will remain 5V 2A.

For optimal charge with the 3rd party Certified AC Power Adaptor, ensure it:

  • supplies 10W (5 Volts and/or 2 Amperes) or above; widely available in major convenience stores
  • using lower power will increase the charging time
  • has the safety certification mark (it is indicated on the AC Power Adaptor by CE conformity symbol or mark showing compliance with regulations applicable in South Africa)

You can check the power information of the AC Power Adaptor on the packaging or on the AC Power Adaptor itself.

Over-power AC Power Adaptor can be used (5V 2A or above). They are widely available in major convenience stores. Charging current will remain 5V -2A.

Lower-power AC Power Adaptor will result in longer charging time.

Power and certification information can be checked on the packaging on the AC Power Adaptor itself.

Available for all IQOS ILUMA i™ devices, FlexPuff is an advanced feature that enables a more flexible experience than before.

Depending on the way you puff, FlexPuff adapts to you and may provide 4 extra puffs (on top of 14 puffs) within up to 6 min experience.

FlexPuff is designed to work with tobacco sticks. Activation and number of puffs depend on individual usage patterns. Thus, extra puffs might not apply to all adult consumers and/or experiences.

Note that if you use the Pause, Flexpuff will not work for this experience.

No action is required from you since the system analyses your experience automatically.

FlexPuff feature can be activated/deactivated at an IQOS store/kiosk or IQOS partner store.

How it works: Towards the end of the experience, your device will analyse if the stick is fully consumed or not.

If the stick is not fully consumed, 4 extra puffs will be automatically added to your experience, and the Touch Screen will indicate it.

Light ring will extend in counterclockwise direction to 9 o’clock position.

Additional puffs nearly completed.

Available only for IQOS ILUMA i PRIME™ and IQOS ILUMA i™ devices, Pause Mode is an advanced feature that enables to pause your experience for up to 8 minutes, and resume it.

If you do not re-activate your experience within 8 mins, the Holder will automatically switch off and the experience will end.

Use Touch Screen to see if Pause Mode is available:

  • ◦ In Performance Mode, during the first 3 minutes or 8 puffs of the experience.
  • ◦ In Performance Mode (default setting) for one of the two consecutive uses.

How to use:

  1. Swipe down across the entire Touch Screen to pause. A vibration will indicate when the pause starts.
  2. During the pause, the LEDs on the Touch Screen will fade out one by one (counter clockwise) from 12pm position as the pause duration count down.
  3. If experience is not resumed within 8 min, Holder will turn off. 1 vibration will indicate when pause is close to the end.
  4. Swipe up across entire Touch Screen to resume the experience. Note that when Pause Mode is activated the experience is limited to 14 puffs (including all puffs before and after the pause).
  5. After the experience is resumed, the preheating will take on average 20 sec – Touch Screen will be showing light completing its round.
  6. Vibration and light guide will indicate that the Holder is ready for use.

Available only for IQOS ILUMA i PRIME™ and IQOS ILUMA i™ devices, FlexBattery is an advanced feature that enables to use your Holder battery either in Performance Mode or in Eco Mode.

Your device is set up in Performance Mode by default, but you can change it to Eco Mode by visiting your nearest IQOS store/kiosk or IQOS partner store.

Performance Mode (default):

2 consecutive uses up to 6min each with 1 pause for one of them,

or up to 3 consecutive uses up to 6min each without pause.

Note: the screen will not show 3rd available experience. After 2nd experience, the screen will show one more available experience (one dash). When no more experiences are available, the screen will indicate the number “0”.

Eco Mode (to be activated in self-diagnostic tool)

Your Holder will be set for a single use only, lasting up to 6 minutes.

Pause Mode is not available in this mode.​

This battery mode shall be set through by visiting your nearest IQOS store/kiosk or IQOS partner store.

It increases the lifespan of the Holder battery by up to one year (only when fully used on Eco Mode throughout the lifespan of the Holder and may vary depending on personal consumption).

There are two LED intensity levels of your Touch Screen: ‘High’ and ‘Low’ - for IQOS ILUMA i PRIME™ and IQOS ILUMA i™ devices.

To change the LED intensity, tap five times on the Touch Screen. Your LED intensity level changes in between 100% (High) & 30% (Low).

Available only for IQOS ILUMA i PRIME™ and IQOS ILUMA i™ devices, you can check the number of available experiences by checking the Touch Screen.

Short press on the Touch Screen:

  • Two horizontal dashes indicate – 2 available experiences.
  • One horizontal dash indicate – 1 available experience.
  • One horizontal dash after the 2nd experience indicates that you can have a 3rd experience available.
  • Number “0” indicates that your battery is depleted. No experience available. Please, charge your Holder.

TEREA sticks and IQOS ILUMA range devices act as one system, ensuring the right heating temperature to deliver a nicotine-containing aerosol that provides an easier draw compared to previous IQOS generations*, taste and experience consistency from stick to stick, and less lingering smell than cigarettes**. Unlike cigarettes, TEREA sticks and IQOS ILUMA range devices do not burn tobacco and therefore produce no smoke.

TEREA offers a wide variety of flavours from rich to balanced, refined or aromatic tobacco tastes crafted with unique blends of ingredients. TEREA Blue and TEREA Turquoise menthol flavours offer a refreshing experience, whilst TEREA Bronze, TEREA Sienna, TEREA Amber and TEREA Yellow tobacco sticks provide a more classic tobacco experience with various aroma notes. TEREA Ruby Wave offers a fresh red berry experience while TEREA Satin Wave provides a cooling tropical tobacco experience. One pack of TEREA for IQOS ILUMA range devices contains 20 SMARTCORE STICKS. A carton contains 10 individual packs, with a total of 200 SMARTCORE STICKS.

To use a TEREA SMARTCORE STICK, you’ll need a device from the IQOS ILUMA range. Insert a TEREA stick into an IQOS ILUMA range device, which heats the tobacco with the SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM. Press the button on the device to activate heating. Once the TEREA stick has fully heated, it is ready for use.

An experience with TEREA using an IQOS ILUMA range device lasts up to 6 minutes or 14 puffs, whichever comes first. Thanks to the FlexPuff feature, the experience can be extended by 4 puffs, while remaining within up to 6 minutes*. IQOS ILUMA range devices support up to 3 consecutive uses on a single charge in Performance Mode when pause is not activated. IQOS ILUMA ONE and IQOS ILUMA i ONE devices support up to 20 consecutive uses on a single charge.

The way an adult consumer puffs will affect how long the TEREA stick lasts. The number of uses may decrease with the age of the device.

*FlexPuff is designed to work with tobacco sticks. Activation and number of puffs depend on individual usage patterns, so extra puffs might not apply to all adult consumers or experiences. FlexPuff does not activate when pause is used.

South African law prohibits TEREA and tobacco products from being sold online. TEREA is therefore only available for purchase in physical stores.
