Which TEREA variants are available?

We offer a range of choices to satisfy diverse taste preferences of adult IQOS consumers. Our product range encompasses both menthol and non-menthol variants.

All variants of HEETS^TM in the Philippines have a corresponding similar variant now available in TEREA.

TEREA vs HEETS^TM

TEREA is designed to be used with IQOS ILUMA. Do not use TEREA with previous IQOS^TM generations, as this may cause damage to your device.

The metal heating element (Which is the SMARTCORE) is now at the core of tobacco stick itself, and there is no blade in the holder of IQOS ILUMA. Each TEREA is sealed, making insertion and extraction effortless and hassle-free, and there’s no need to clean your IQOS ILUMA after use. The duration of using a TEREA is the same as of a HEETS^TM stick. 

TEREA brings you real tobacco taste and satisfaction with improved draw and taste consistency from stick to stick, generous aerosol and less lingering smell.

How does IQOS ILUMA heat the tobacco without the blade? What’s the technology?

IQOS ILUMA uses induction heating whereas previous IQOS generation devices used resistive heating technology.

The pioneering SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEMTM in IQOS ILUMA and TEREA completely reinvents the way tobacco is heated. The new bladeless SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEMTM uses an innovative metal heating element placed inside the stick and coated with stainless steel for seamless heating of tobacco. So, your tobacco is heated not burned with improved draw and taste consistency from stick to stick. More robustness and reliability – with our latest addition to the IQOS family, with IQOS ILUMA there is less smell compared to prior IQOS generations (as most consumers agree, based on market research), and no blade breakages due to the different heating technology – the SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEMTM.

How to use TEREA?

• The electronic Holder heats the tobacco in the TEREA with the help of the SMARTCORE (metal heating element) in the TEREA.
• TEREA tobacco sticks are designed to be used with IQOS ILUMA devices. Do not use TEREA with previous IQOS generations, as this may cause damage to your device.
• TEREA should be placed in the Holder of IQOS ILUMA, up to the wavy line. 
• TEREA tobacco sticks are single use only and should never be re-used, or lit with a match, lighter or any other flame source. Doing so may cause injury. Do not modify TEREA any way or add any substance to TEREA. Doing so may cause injury.

How long does the experience last with the TEREA?

An experience with IQOS ILUMA lasts up to 6 mins or 14 puffs, whichever comes first. It is it the same duration as HEETS^TM with earlier IQOS generations.

With IQOS ILUMA you can enjoy two consecutive uses on a single Holder charge. 

If you stop your first experience before the 6min or 14 puffs are over, you still have a second experience available for use.

Can I use any TEREA with any type of IQOS ILUMA device?

Yes, all TEREA are compatible with any type of IQOS ILUMA.

IQOS ILUMA is designed to be used with TEREA. Do not use IQOS ILUMA and TEREA with previous IQOS generations (IQOS 3 DUO or earlier), as this may cause damage to your device.

Will a stick be hotter when you take it out from a holder (considering metal inside) vs current one?

It is possible that a TEREA stick may feel warmer than a HEETS^TM stick when you remove it from the Holder due to presence of metal susceptor in the stick. It is however safe to handle or dispose. 

Do not remove TEREA while in use. Handle with care, and dispose sticks as soon as fully cooled according to your local waste disposal regulations.

Do not ingest or disassemble TEREA. This product contains a sharp metal part which can cause serious injury if swallowed. Keep out of reach of children and pets. For more details, please refer to the Important Information section at iqos.com.

Some TEREA sticks are harder to insert or break when inserted into the IQOS ILUMA Holder

For New users: IQOS ILUMA has to grip the TEREA tobacco stick tightly from outside, so it doesn’t come off during the use and delivers the best experience. It is ok to fee some resistance during the insertion of a stick. Please grip the stick with two fingers and push vertically into the holder until the silver line, where the stick will stop advancing. 

For previous DUO Users: Because the IQOS ILUMA holder does not have a blade as in the previous IQOS generations, it has to grip the TEREA tobacco stick tightly from the outside, so it doesn't come off during the experience.

What do I do if the TEREA breaks inside the IQOS ILUMA Holder?

Do not remove TEREA while in use. Make sure your device is switched off and allow the stick to cool down before removing it. With caution, use your two fingers to remove the TEREA stick. If this does not work, with caution, try using a toothpick to remove the part of the stick that remains in the device. When removed, dispose as soon as fully cooled as per your local waste regulation. Do not use any sharp tools to remove the broken stick as you might damage the device.  Do not insert any metal into your device.  If you are experiencing any trouble, please go to your nearest IQOS store so that one of our agents can assist you.

How can I know whether the TEREA Stick is too wet to use?

Store IQOS ILUMA and TEREA in a clean, dry, and cool place. Do not expose IQOS ILUMA to high humidity conditions or direct sunlight. Do not use TEREA that have been exposed to excessive heat or moisture.

What is the metal inside TEREA? Should I be concerned?

The metal heating element inside the tobacco stick is referred to as the “SMARTCORE”. This component is there to heat the tobacco in the stick without any direct contact with the Holder. 

The SMARTCORE interacts with the induction technology in the Holder and operates as part of the SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM^TM which ensures the right heating of the tobacco in the TEREA.

The presence of SMARTCORE technology does not impact the tobacco aerosol generated.
