Can I use cigarettes or tobacco sticks from other brands on an IQOS device?
The short answer is no.
Don’t be tempted to try and use cigarettes or other tobacco sticks in your IQOS or BONDS by IQOS device. Not only will you invalidate the guarantee, but you might also cause damage to the unit, which has been designed to work exclusively with TEREA (for IQOS ILUMA), HEETSTM(for IQOS Originals and previous IQOS generations) and BLENDS (for BONDS by IQOS) and is not compatible with other products.
Conventional cigarettes are unsuitable for IQOS and BONDS by IQOS: Neither the heating element of the IQOS tobacco heater can constantly heat the tobacco of a normal cigarette to the optimal temperature, nor is the tobacco of a conventional cigarette prepared so that it can be heated.
Although there are other similar products on the market in other countries you should not be tempted to try them in your IQOS.
IQOS devices are intended solely for use by adult smokers looking for an alternative to smoking cigarettes and only by using IQOS with official TEREA and HEETSTM, or BONDS by IQOS with official BLENDS will you benefit fully from the volumes of research and development that has gone into creating this suite of smoking alternatives.
- Your BONDS by IQOS device has been designed to work exclusively with BLENDS tobacco sticks. By using BONDS by IQOS and BLENDS together, you can enjoy the authentic tobacco taste.
- The new IQOS ILUMA devices are not compatible with IQOS 3 DUO and earlier devices. IQOS ILUMA is not compatible with HEETSTM. IQOS ILUMA is designed to be used with TEREA.
- Do not use IQOS ILUMA and TEREA with previous IQOS generations, as this may cause damage to your device.

If you’ve accidentally try using a HEETSTM stick in an IQOS ILUMA device, the IQOS ILUMA device will simply not start since it is designed to start only after having detected a TEREA tobacco stick.
