Embracing Convenience and Flexibility

In the past, being interrupted during your experience meant potentially wasting your TEREA stick.

Pause Mode lets you pause your experience for up to 8 minutes and resume it. So, if you're interrupted whether you need to answer the door or pick up the phone, you can activate Pause Mode via the Touch Screen.

Let's talk benefits. Pause Mode isn't just about convenience; it's about heightened flexibility, and, most importantly, delivering higher value for your experience.

Using Pause Mode: A Step-By-Step Guide

Now, let's get technical. Here's how you can use Pause Mode with your IQOS ILUMA i:

Activation: Swipe down across the entire Touch Screen to Pause. You'll feel a subtle vibration to indicate when the Pause starts.
Pause Countdown: During the Pause, the LEDs on the Touch Screen will steadily fade out to demonstrate the countdown. The LEDs will fade out from the 12 o'clock position, moving counterclockwise.
Resumption: If your experience isn't resumed within 8 minutes, the Holder will auto-switch off. You'll receive a vibration to indicate when the Pause is close to ending. To resume, swipe up across the entire Touch Screen.

It's worth noting that when Pause Mode is activated, the experience is limited to 14 puffs (including all puffs before and after the Pause).

After resuming, the preheating will take approximately 20 seconds, with the Touch Screen showing a completion light. A vibration and light guide will indicate that the Holder is ready for use again.

Pause Mode is only available in Performance Mode, during the first 3 minutes or 8 puffs of the experience. When pause is activated, Performance Mode gives you up to two consecutive experiences and pause is available only for one of them.

Troubleshooting Tips and More

For those occasions when your Pause Mode experiences issues, we've got you covered.

Make sure that your swipe gestures are quick and decisive – any movement slower than 0.5 seconds is not recognized as a swipe gesture.

Additionally, if swiping doesn't work while holding the device in one hand, try using the index finger from another hand for a smoother gesture. If the experience isn't re-activated within 8 minutes, the Holder will auto-switch off.

Touch Screen

The IQOS ILUMA i showcases IQOS' latest technology with the Touch Screen, a completely new user interface available in the IQOS ILUMA i and IQOS ILUMA i PRIME. It allows you to easily view information about your experience for greater convenience, which includes:

The time left of the experience
The number of available experiences (two dashes for up to 3 experiences and 1 dash for one experience)
The pre-heating status (duration and completion)

FlexPuff

FlexPuff is a feature available in all devices from the IQOS ILUMA i range. When the FlexPuff feature is active, the device will analyze whether the TEREA stick has been fully consumed as the experience comes to an end. This action occurs automatically, meaning no action is required from you. If the TEREA stick is not fully consumed, it may provide 4 extra puffs*, so you can enjoy the moment for longer. With this feature, FlexPuff provides a more customized and flexible experience than before.

*FlexPuff is designed to work with tobacco sticks. Activation and the number of puffs depends on individual usage patterns, thus extra puffs might not apply to all adult consumers and/or experiences. FlexPuff does not activate when pause is used.

FlexBattery

FlexBattery is an adaptive feature that manages the holder battery to enable Pause, FlexPuff and consecutive uses. This feature enables you to use your holder in one of two modes:

Performance Mode - This is the default mode. It enables 2 consecutive uses of up to 6 minutes, each with 1 Pause available. Alternatively, you can experience 3 consecutive uses of up to 6 minutes each, without a pause.
Eco Mode - You can set your IQOS ILUMA i to this mode using the IQOS App. In this mode, the Holder will be set for a single use only, lasting up to 6 minutes. Doing so prolongs the lifespan of the Holder battery by up to one year so the holder can be used for longer*.

*Only when fully used on Eco Mode throughout the lifespan of the holder and may vary depending on personal consumption.

Autostart/Autostop

Autostart and Autostop are features available in older generations of the IQOS ILUMA range as well as the IQOS ILUMA i. Autostart means that when a TEREA stick is inserted into the IQOS ILUMA i, preheating will start automatically. Autostop means that if the TEREA stick is removed from the IQOS ILUMA i Holder, the experience will stop.
