How does IQOS work?

IQOS is the new way to enjoy real tobacco: IQOS heats a specially designed tobacco stick with real tobacco (“HEETS”) to a high-precision temperature range using a patented heating system. This creates a nicotine-containing tobacco aerosol (“tobacco vapor”), which can be consumed and features the flavor of real tobacco.

To use IQOS, a HEETS tobacco stick is inserted into the heating system ("holder") and heated via lithium battery at the push of a button. Once optimum temperature has been reached, the HEETS tobacco stick is ready for consumption. Consumption duration is approximately the same as that of a cigarette.
