The Difference Between Vaping and Smoking

Vaping has been gaining popularity as an alternative to smoking throughout the years. But what is the difference between the two?

Smoking involves the burning of tobacco, and when the user inhales the smoke, nicotine is delivered to the body. The process of burning tobacco is scientifically proven to generate over 6,000 chemicals, of which about 100 have been identified as causes or potential causes of smoking-related diseases.

By contrast, vaping heats liquid (often containing nicotine), which is vaporized and inhaled by the user. Vaping eliminates the process of “burning” or combustion. This is why vaping is often touted as an alternative to smoking. However, vapes are not risk-free.

Undoubtedly, the best option for any smoker is to quit tobacco and nicotine use altogether, as the adverse effects of smoking are well-known.

Smoking alternatives

Vaping is a popular alternative to cigarettes within the Philippines and worldwide. Many smokers have been able to stop cigarette smoking entirely by switching to vaping.

However, some smokers may find the experience of vaping too different from cigarettes and could not get used to the vape flavors, taste, or ritual. Besides vaping, smokers can look into non-combusted alternatives such as nicotine pouches and heated tobacco products (HTPs).

If you’re thinking of getting an HTP as a smoking alternative, you might want to look into IQOS. IQOS is produced by Philip Morris International (PMI), one of the leading HTP manufacturers worldwide, and made available in the Philippines by its affiliate, PMFTC Inc. and its authorized distributor ActivAsia Inc. (AAI).

IQOS uses a controlled heating technology that gives the same experience without combustion. Instead of smoke, IQOS products release non-smoke aerosol composed of mostly water and glycerin.

IQOS boutique and pop-up stores can be found in select malls. You can also shop for IQOS devices, HEETSTM, and accessories in other vape shops in the Philippines as well as online in IQOS.com or in our official store in Lazada.

Cigarette Smoke Smell and Lingering Smell from Cigarettes

Lingering cigarette smells can be frustrating for a legal age (18+) adult smoker as well as the people he/she lives/works with. The residue a cigarette produces when it burns coats everything it comes into contact with – including walls, sofas and curtains.
